Northome School Support Services

At Northome School we have a variety of Support Services available to our students and families. Here is a list with links to the various supports and agencies:  

ADSIS

The purpose of ADSIS is to provide instruction to assist students who need additional academic or behavioral support to succeed in the general education environment. The goal is to reduce the number of inappropriate referrals to special education by providing proactive instructional supports early to struggling students.

BRIC

Bemidji Regional Interdistrict Council (BRIC) is a Special Education Cooperative of eleven member school districts that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education. The mission of the Bemidji Regional Interdistrict Council Cooperative is to ensure the provision of appropriate, comprehensive and quality services to identified children and their families within the member Districts of BRIC in North Central Minnesota.

Indigenous Studies

Infinity Online

Infinity Online, a state certified online provider, is a free, part-time, non-diploma based program providing a broad selection of high quality, online courses to Minnesota students in grades 9-12. Working collaboratively with the local school district, students are able to take online classes without leaving their home districts, teachers, and friends who make up the school experience. Students who enroll in Infinity courses do so for a variety of reasons: to solve scheduling conflicts, to explore different learning environments, to recover credit(s), to expand their elective opportunities, or to provide advanced coursework options.

Kootasca Community Action

Head Start is a federally funded early childhood program that serves children ages 3-5. The program is a comprehensive preschool program that includes: education, family support, health services, disability services, mental health support.

Math and Reading Corps

Kids do better with personalized support. Math and Reading Corps tutors work one-on-one, in pairs, or small groups with preschool through 8th graders to center on each student's needs.

Title 1 - ESEA

Title I is a federally funded program through the Elementary & Secondary Act (ESEA) designed to provide support to students who are performing below grade level in reading and/or math.

PSEO

The Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program allows students to enroll in courses at a college or university and earn both high school and college credit for free. Students attend class with college students, either on campus or online. All courses are taught and graded by college faculty.
